Hinterland of Things – Exhibition
Explore, Test it out and Get Inspired!
Our exhibition gives you an overview of what happens behind-the-scenes of startups in Germany and Europe. Learn what new solutions entrepreneurs are working on. Explore future use cases for your company. Exchange ideas on concrete collaboration cases. We have four interactive spaces for you covering topics such as SaaS, IoT, Robotics and AI.
SaaS: Let’s talk Software
Forget hard cases and disks – they are so 80ies! The fastest and smartest way to use new software solutions today is a Software-as-a-Services (SaaS) approach. SaaS models are not just a great way to apply new tech solutions for established companies, but also a major growth factor for startups since it provides a lean and scalable business model. SaaS solutions can be found in various sectors and nearly all departments of corporations. In our SaaS space, up to ten SaaS startups will present their solutions – ranging from HR to Controlling, from Communications to Sales. Meet companies such as Valuedesk, Candis or Personio.
BTW: Don’t miss the talk “How to build a B2B SaaS Unicorn Pony” on our Startup Stage! We start at 12:05 sharp!

AI: Smart Machines combined with Smart Data
Germany shall become the leading AI nation – this was a goal in the “Federal Government Strategy on Artificial Intelligence” report published in 2018. More than 100 AI startup are active in Germany right now, the majority based in Berlin, which makes the German capital a leading hub in AI. Up to five startups with existing AI solutions will showcase how AI can be applied in German SME at Hinterland of Things. Meet companies such as Semalytix, one of the Top100 startups in Germany according to The Hundred and a jury of 42 investors, editors and entrepreneurs, or Mercury.ai on February 14th!
BTW: Last year’s speaker Chris Boos, the founder of AI startup Arago, joined the advisory panel that advises Chancellor Merkel on the execution of the new Government Strategy on Artificial Intelligence. His message: “Germany must get to grips with digital technology or risk slipping into a steep post-industrial decline. The price of inaction is that you will be a developing nation in 10 years.”
